PAGE SIXTEEN THE ECHO BOWLING g" SPORTS CHATTER With the return of “Knuckle- ball” Morris, our Ecusta bowling team should be all set for the fi nal drive in the WNC bowling pro gram. All season our boys have been pushing first place and, now, with a little more help, we should be in better shape to take over. At the same time “Knuckleball” is helping the Ecusta team, the Pulp Mill team will come in for its share of boosting. No doubt. Cap tain Clyde Galloway is quite pleased with the new addition to his team. Just received word from “Hank” Newbury that he intends to make someone hustle for the first base position on next summer’s baseball team. Go to it “Hank”, because there is nothing like good compe tition. “Bud” White, of the Re fining department, also has some intentions up his sleeve along the same line. The more the merrier. Speaking of sports, you Five- Year Club men can expect some great things from your Sports Committee just as soon a sthe weather permits. Plans are almost completed to have a bowling tour nament and, without doubt, this event will be a good forerunner. The Athletic department is won dering if there are enough em ployees who would be interested in making plans to attend a big foot ball game in Knoxville, Tenn. This group could charter a bus and ar range for tickets at a minimum cost. A rough guess at the cost of such a trip would be approxi mately $6.00. Talk it up among yourselves and let’s see what hap pens. If there is sufficient inter est, the Athletic department would be happy to make all arrange ments. Too much delay in reaching a decision would hamper our chances of getting proper seating space. Let’s hear from you soon. SPORTS QUIZ QUES-nONS 1. They held the Canton girls to 3 points in the first half. Prince, Taylor, Souther, Smith, Barnwell and Snyder have added the scor ing points.
