The two teams from Ecusta en
tered in the Transylvania Softball
league are among the league lead
ers at the present time with the
Pulp Mill climbing into first place
last Tuesday night by defeating the
Brevard Jaycees, 5 to 4, in an ex
tra inning ball game. One other
team, the Kiwanis nine, has a 1.000
per cent average but has only won
three games while the Pulp Mill
boys have four victories to their
credit.
The Champagne team is in third
place with two wins and one loss.
As the season progresses, all teams
are showing marked improvement,
and the Champagne boys lost a
heart-breaker to Pulp Mill last
Wednesday night in a 1 to 0 ball
game. Fritz Merrill was the win
ning pitcher while Bud Case was
credited with the defeat. Both boys
allowed only two hits each.
With the breaking of summer

Wednesday, playing specially re
corded programs for employees in
both Champagne and Endless Belt.
While MUSIC IM INDUSTRY is be
ing conducted here on a somewhat
experimental basis, the best indi
cations are that it will prove to be
successful and that it will be ex
tended to other departments.
For several years many of our
leading American industries have
used MUSIC IN INDUSTRY for
the purpose of relieving fatigue
and monotony in repetitive work.
Surveys conducted among employ
ees in many industries reveal the
fact that comfortable forking
conditions are second only to se
curity of employment. This clear
ly explains why music is playing
such an important role in Americ-
can industry today. It has already
found its way into many factories,
offices, and cafeterias and is doing
much to boost morale and lessen
