V HOW TO TIE A WINDSOR KNOT Shown at right is Few Lyda of the Main Office, who has consented to show us how to tie the Windsor knot. If the diagrams shown here are followed carefully, you can master this knot in two or three weeks. MACHINE ROOM NEWS By Burder Teague Hats off to the Machine Room baseball team! Our team came through in the good old fashion way by winning a double header from the Gen erals. We also won the Interdepartmental cham pionship trophy for 1949- Nice going fellows. Roy Carter of Champagne had the highest batting average with .500. Several of our players had an average of over .300, and when we have a bunch of fellows like that we are bound to win. And now for the best news yet. Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Collins a 7 pound 12 ounce girl. Margaret Ann was born August 2nd at the Bilt- more Hospital. At the McKinnish home its a boy. Richmond Dee McKinnish was born at the Biltmore Hospital on August 10, weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces. Congratulations to John and Conley. Those planning vacations in September are: L. Brown, S. Macfie, W. Ballard, W. Edney, S. Mull, E. Little, W. Kilpatrick, B. Roberts, B. Shook, W. H. Gash and E. Allison. Nathan McMinn informed your reporter that he didn’t like to see his name in print. Well, if Nathan doesn’t want us to mention his name (Nathan McMinn) he must have a reason, so we’ll wait a month or two to print Nathan’s name and to write about all those football games Mr. McMinn is going to. Nathan McMinn is a rabid football fan and goes to several big games each year, don’t you Nathan? That is all of the news for this month, but we have an army joke that we thought you might like. The green recruit walked past the Colonel without saluting. "Hey soldier,” snapped the red faced Colonel, "Come back here, do you know who I am?” "Nope,.” replied the recruit. "Well,” said the Colonel, "for your information I am the top man here. I give all the orders around here. What I say goes.” "Look bub.” replied the re cruit, "lemmy give you some advice. You got a good job here. Keep your mouth shut and don’t louse it up.” 28
