FISHING DATES FOR TROUT STREAMS IN NATIONAL
FORESTS ARE LISTED
Dates for fishing in National Forest trout
streams were announced yesterday by D. J. Mor
ris, supervisor of Pisgah National Forest.
The areas open for supervised fishing in Pisgah
are Mt. Mitchell, Daniel Boone, Rich Laurel, Sher
wood and Pisgah game preserve.
In Nantahaia National Forest, the open areas
will be Standing Indian, Fires Creek, Wayah Bald
and Santeetlah. Cliffside Lake in Nantahaia will
be open from June 1 to August 31.

Daily permits, costing $1, will be required of
all fishermen. The nimrods also must carry State
fishing licenses. Fishing will be permitted only
from 6 a. m. to 8 p. m., and the lucky fishermen
may take not more than 10 trout of any size.
Only artificial lures will be permitted in the
Pisgah Preserve, North and South Harper Creek
in Daniel Boone, and the Middle Prong of West
Fork of Pigeon River in Sherwood.
