SIX RULES FOR BETTER LIVING
DON’T WORRY—Keep your insurance paid
up and see that your brakes are O. K. It’s always
well to provide for every emergency but once you
have done this drop your cares and you will have
nothing to worry about.
DON’T QUARREL—with your boss, your cus
tomers, or your family. It is not good for your
blood pressure and who knows perhaps their view
point may be as good as your own.
DON’T HURRY—remember there are 24
hours in every day, that most days have plenty
of sunshine and there’s plenty of time to work,
for golf, and plenty of time to think great
thoughts.
DON’T RESENT—maybe Mr. X has done you
a wrong, but the law of compensation will adjust
it. Put him out of your life entirely and you’ll be
happier.
DON’T GRAB—honest endeavor is the only
road to happy possession. If you don’t like your
present surroundings prepare yourself for some
thing better and grow toward your ideal.
DON’T POST-MORTEM—about lost orders,
ball games, and social delights. Nobody is interest
ed in what didn’t happen. Talk realities and you’ll
be popular.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT
FLOWERS?
Do you know that there is a Shrimp Plant, so
called because its blooms are the color and shape
of shrimps?
Do you know that there’s a new ivy with curly
leaves with the appropriate name of "Curlilocks?”
Do you know that the perfumes and fragrances
that women enjoy most come from flowers—
Roses, Lilacs, Carnations, Lilies-of-the-Valley, Vio
lets, Jasmine, and others?
Do you know that it takes from five to seven
years to bring Orchid plants, planted as seed, into
bloom?
Do you know that members of the Calla fam
ily were among the earliest known plants in the
world? White Calla Lilies grow like weeds along
irrigation ditches in Egypt and California. Jack-
in-the-Pulpit, which is a member of this family,
has a tuber that Indians roasted and used for food,
thus giving it the name of Indian Turnip. Un
cooked, it contains chemical crystals which prick
the tongue.
Do you know that Caesar became bald when he
was about 30 years old and afterwards wore a
crown of flowers or leaves to conceal this defect?
This might be an idea for the twentieth century
man who suffers from baldness.
