OFFICE BITS By Alex Duris The World Series left a number of folks sad but much wiser. Their guessing was not so good! Those who chose the winners were just lucky! Any thing can happen and usually does during the series. Now with football in high gear, the partisan arguments for and against re spective teams is in full flower. There are those who believe, that winner or loser, their team is the only one worth talking about. If they happen to be on the losing end of the score, they will tell you that Lady Luck singled them out for her dis favor and the alibies they offer are so soul render ing, that it makes you feel like a heel if you don’t offer a sympathetic word to soothe their sorrows. The Monday morning alibies are as much a part of football as are the crowds, the banners, the teams and the bands. Without the Monday morning la ments, the winners would feel that they had won an empty victory. Mrs. Melonne Freeman, is our new operator at the switchboard. She comes to us from Brevard.
