All you have to do is to go to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, on your five days off or even your vacation and catch all the big fish you wish, we have the live proof of it; just ask Camenzind when you see him. If any of you readers have any stale cigars at home that you would like to dispose of, please do not throw them away, give them to Burgin Kil patrick. Any donations will be appreciated. Many of our employees have taken vacations since the last issue of The Echo, which makes it practically impossible to give in detail where each person vacationed, but our primary concern is with Markley Jones who has the week of October 15th off. Will he or will he not kill a bear?? Read our article in the next issue of The Echo. Confi dentially someone told me that he could not hit the side of a barn with a shotgun, he did take a rifle didn’t he? ? Several of our employees and families attended the Duke-Tennessee game, all reported a grand time even tho’ the score was out of balance. Clarence Nicholson can get more game with his automobile accidentally than most of these hunters can get on purpose, isn’t that so Clarence?? Frank Patton keeps talking about Florida, must be a vacation coming up. All birds take notice in the deep south: Fly North where it is cool, be cause Patton may not hit you but he might be able to come so close that it would be too hot for comfort. FINISHING DEPARTMENT By Mildred Ashe and Lola Shook As we look over the crowd on our shift we find many new faces. It is impossible to name each of them, but we extend a welcome to all and hope they enjoy working with us. Bessie Cheek and Birdell Garren have been on the sick list but are back at work now. Bessie says it’s sure nice to be back. Mary Kilpatrick is the proud owner of a new house on the Rosman highway. She moved into it recently from the North Brevard section. "Preacher” Kilstrom -spent a nice two weeks vacation at home with his son Freddie. Freddie was home for two weeks en route to Florida from Dallas, Texas. He is stationed in Panama City, Florida with the U. S. Air Force. Dot Pressley and family spent Sunday, October 14, in Knoxville, Tenn., visiting friends. Lissie Mease took a nice long trip on her vaca tion. She went to Texas City, Texas to visit her brother. She reported a very nice trip since she hadn’t seen her brother in four years. Glady’s Wirtz is all smiles these days. Her hus band, who is in the navy, is home for ten days. He will then report back to Philadelphia, Pennsyl vania. Mr. Corbett spent his vacation seeing points of interest in Charleston, S. C. Freda Boley spent a recent weekend in Berea, Kentucky visiting her boy friend who is going to college there. From all reports she must have had a swell time. Sadie Smith says she can ride now. She bought a new Ford recently and already has her license. Don’t drive too fast, Sadie. Katherine Hyder’s husband is recovering nice ly from an operation, "Kat” had just spent a week’s vacation at home. It looks as if wedding bells will be ringing again. Joyce Danielson is wearing a beautiful sparkler. From the way things look, it won’t be long. The lucky guy is Hoyt Galloway of Brevard. Hurry up Joyce before Uncle Sam gets him. Since socialism has come to England, a London bus driver gets $17 a week. He pays 50 cents a package for cigarettes and a pack a day would absorb approximately 20% of his income.
