CAFETERIA & CANTEEN By Anne Kitchen Those taking vacations from our department this month were as follows: War rior McCall spent part time opossum hunting and one bit him on the finger. Valary Carter vacationed to dig his potatoes and it rained all week. He says he’ll dig them later. A. E. York is having to paint and fix up around home so he won’t have time to attend all the football games. Glenn Newton is hauling coal and peddling ap ples. John Dills stayed home and prepared for winter. Others having vacations were Bob Kai ser, who, while on his vacation took an airplane ride from Hendersonville to Brevard. Curtiss Chapman is staying home and helping the wife tend to the babies. Curtiss’ wife has recently undergone an operation at the hospital and is doing nicely. Walter Robinson is taking a vacation and work ing at the Pierce Moore. Watch out for your In come tax. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomas a son. Mother and son are doing fine. We welcome to our Department the following new Canteen helpers: J. C. Chapman and Reeves Ricker. From the Cafeteria, James Hawkins, and Paul Patterson. We extend to Warrior McCall our sympathy in the loss of his brother, Otis McCall. We are sorry to loose Daniel Belmer. He was transferred to Cellophane Police Department. We will all get to take a ride now that Mildred Baumgarner has purchased a new car. We are sorry to hear of the death of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Anders’ uncle, J. A. Devoure. He was killed while cutting timber. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Clouse, a son, Larry Stephen at Patton Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville on October 21. Mrs. Clouse will be remembered as Lucille Whitaker, formerly of this department. We sympathi2e with Eula and Margaret Lan dreth on the loss of their father-in-law Mr, D. C. Landreth, Sr. Welcome to Frank Rymer, our newest worker in Autobound. Vacationing this past month was Charlotte Barn well who went fishing at Lake Chatuga and caught 4 fish weighing 15 lbs. Eula Landreth spent a week visiting friends in Wilmington, Del. Gladys Cassell visited her brother at Columbus, Georgia. Attending the Wake Forest-Clemson game Sat urday were Carolyn, Margaret, Lucille and Flor ence Gillespie.
