D" SHIFT COATING
By Nathan Reed
Can you imagine?
May? Well it’s here and
nearly gone already.
Spring without fish tales?
Neither can I.
The "Green Hornet”
parked at home?
Harold Orr going to eat
as the last guy from the towers? It happened on
Thursday, May 7, 1953 at 7:30 P. M.
Ray Winchester driving a new 210 Chevy? Is
it so Ray?
Harold’s dog doing anything except eating and
sleeping?
Ace & Dewey walking?? on forbidden grounds?
Tell us more, fellows.
Bobby Hunter walking slowly by the wash
basins in the locker room at shift change? It
happened one time.
Max Ramey getting the solvent initiation cere
mony in the towers?
Jim Roper going gigging again this Spring?
Chow time without Lawyers Gaddy, Galloway,
Blanton and Ken Moore?
Clay Edwards without salt in his tea?
This month we welcome three new fellows to
the towers: Max Ramey from Enka, David Shep
ard from Canton and Kenneth Hall, a local boy.
Stick around fellows. Hope you like the place.
That’s all—See you next month.
MAINTENANCE
By Bob Parker
J Well, here we go again.
Maybe the last of April had
: some cold weather, but it
seems that Spring has really
gotten here this time. At
any rate, the fellows have
started taking their vacations:
C. B. Lyday, J. C. Gevedon,
R. L. Corn, Ed Hoxit, J. E. Reese, D. L. Thorne
and J. W. Crary. We haven’t had any reports on
what took place during their week’s absence, oth
er than Corn. Seems that Corn became a Papa
right at the beginning of his vacation, so we can
imagine how he spent his vacation.
We found Dixon Lyday, R. L. Corn and D. W.
Vick passing out cigars during the past month.
The best we can tell, all the Papas have recovered
as good as n.sw, other than maybe their heads
have grown a size or two.
By the way, Brownlow Hooper reports that
should you pay J. T. Reid a social visit, it is wise
to stay awake and watch what goes on. Wonder
This cute little pug with the quizzical expression
weighs only 7 pounds, is a fawn color and an
swers to the name of Victoria, Her owner is Mrs,
Evelyn Wilson of the Cellophane Div. Office.
if Brownlow has tried any new beverages lately?
Martin Landreth says he would like to run an
ad for a good coon dog, but says it must be a good
tree dog too. It seems that his pup will trail fine,
but he can’t get him to tree.
For the benefit of those who haven’t seen and
read the letter (which is posted on our bulletin
board) we received from George Ryder, George
seems to like his work although he sounds as if
it keeps him pretty well occupied.
We understand that Nat and Bob enjoyed
these business parties where you have a free meal
of a hot dog and a "bill”.
See you next issue.
Safety Electric Outlets . . . These convenience
outlets are called No-Shok units because of safety
feature that requires a quarter-turn of the base
plug when inserting it in the outlet. When
plug is removed, face of outlet snaps back to cover
prong holes so that children cannot insert pins,
nails, wires, and other objects.
Wood Veneer Wallpaper . . . Microwood is a
wallpaper of actual wood veneer. A genuine
wooden film is fused to a paper base. It comes
in birch and beech, stained to different colors,
and is priced the same as better quality wallpapers.
It is available in rolls 27 inches wide, 47 feet
long and can be cleaned with furniture polish.
Rear Window Defrosting Fan . . . An inter
esting accessory being offered is a rear window
air circulator. The unit is powered by a fractional
horsepower motor using 2 plastic Sirocco fans.
Air is drawn in through ducts at each end.
