L. C. POOR AND TOM CONLEY ESTABLISH ELITE '600' CLUB
L. C. Poor of the Clear Paper team began the
elite "600” club on Thursday night, October 15
with a three game total of 639 pins. For this three
game total L. C. has scores of 220, 245 and 165.
Poor’s 245 pin game and 639 pin set score plus
his handicap of 20 pins at that time gave him a
total of a 265 pin game and a 699 pin set, the
highest individual game and set scores of the seas
on thus far in the Men’s Handicap League play.
Tom Conley joined Poor’s "600” club on Thurs
day night, December 17th with a set score total
of 605 pins. Tom’s three game series included
games of 171, 230 and 204 pins. With his handi
cap of 24 pins Tom is credited with a 254 pin
game and a 677 pin set, which gave him high in
dividual game and set honor for his team, which
is known as the Bums.
Gutter Gus wishes to commend L C. and Tom
for their achievement and hope he has occasion to
add other members to the' club as the season
progresses.
At this writing twenty-six bowlers have made
the "500” club of the Men’s Handicap League and
thirty-one bowlers have achieved this honor in the
men’s Scratch League. However, the "200” club
has fewer members in each league with twenty
bowlers listed in the handicap league and twenty-
five 200 club members listed in the scratch league.
We hope to publish the names of these members
in a future issue of The Echo.
Gutter Gus is unhapy to report that none of
the women bowlers have crashed the 200 or 500
clubs. However, Jewel Wilson of the Champagne
Rebels came very close with a 199 pin game. Mar
garet Head of the Officettes team has been the
closest to the 500 set with the high individual set
total of 470 pins. Lookout fellows Gutter Gus
predicts some of the gals will make it before the
season closes.
