f-Iarold Haynes of "C” Shift Film Slitting is quite proud of the string of fish he’s holding. It seems none of the fellows in his department have be lieved any of the many fish stories he’s been tell ing, so now he offers pictorial proof. OFFICE By Billie Hart 8c Bonnie Grose Vacation time! And what a glorious time it was . for some here in the office. Mildred Reese has just returned from a three-week trip through the West, and we’ve all enjoyed sharing her trip with her ■ by the tales she has to tell. Sounds like it was a I wonderful experience. Bill Daniel spent his vacation moving into their ' new home and we hear it is really quite lovely. ' Mr. Johnson’s little son Micky helped him en joy his vacation by coming down with a very timely case of measles. Seems like things like that just will happen sometimes. Martha McKelvey spent a full week just resting —would that we all should be so sensible! Congratulations are extended to Bob Black and Ernest Gilstrap on the recent promotions. Bob is now with the Methods and Standards Section and Ernest is working in the Storeroom. Faye Smith will represent us as "Miss Brevard of 1954” at the state contest in Burlington, N. C., on July 15, 16 and 17. Best of luck, Faye. Jim Willis and his family spent their vacation visiting with Mrs. Willis’ parents in Georgia, and Wonder how long after the above photo was made the cake remained intact? The young fellow cele brating his first birthday is Michael Arrington, son of Mr and Mrs. Harold Arrington of Hen dersonville. Harold is employed in Film Si tting. Wendal Austin visited his relatives in Kansas dur ing his vacation. That bright light which hits your eyes upon entrance into the Purchasing Department is the results of some new jewelry around there. Along with our comment that it’s mighty pretty, let us also add our very best wishes. We welcome Dean McDaris who has replaced Bob Black as mail clerk, and also Jimmy Glazner who has joined us for a short period of time to take over the mail while Dean is away on a Naval cruise. Bob Arnold has resigned from the company and has accepted a position with a firm in Delaware. Lucille Siniard spent a week in Indiana visiting relatives there. She tells us that Indianapolis is quite the place and she surely enjoyed shopping there. Birthdays were celebrated during the month of June by R. L. Johnson, Don Hill, E. L. Lynn, Helen Manley, Martha McKelvey, John Sowell, and Jim Willis. Colors are often found in the names of places in North Carolina. A few of them are: Violet, White Oak, Yellow Creek, Red Cross, Blue Ridge, Black Creek, Greenville and Orange. Boiling Springs, Blowing Rock, Bone Valley, Blood Camp, Roaring Gap, Sandy Bottom, Shoot ing Creek and Deep Run are places in North Carolina. 26
