Choosing a Vocation, was heard bj- many well known educatons.
During the last few weeks Dr. Bushcy has also made tour of
approximately 15 high schools in Buncombe County, speaking on the
«vbject, “Shall I Go to College?”

Dr. Bishey, The Woman’s College
w'ill .send throe of their faculty
members to the campiis of Ashe-
vlle-Biltmore this summer. Mis.s
Edith Huffman will offer a course
in Remedial reading In a 12 year
program from June 20 to July 1.
Mr. J. A. Smith w'ill give “Science
in the 12 year program” from
July 4 to July 15. And IMr. Her
bert E. Vaughn, will teach Edu
cational Gi idance from July 18 to
July 29. Each course will be two
weeks in duration with classes
held everj' week day from 8:30 to
12:30 under the workshop plan.

Tueeday, March 29th at 11 a.m.

First on the program were two
delightful piano numbers by Glen
Thomas who played Rachmani
noff’s Prelude in G Minor and a
Waltz by Chopin. These -vv’ere fol
lowed with To Spring by Grieg as
played by Jrne Dougherty.
Next the program shifted to a

dances wh!ch began last Tuesday.
The barn dances are expected
to be one of the main social func
tions of the school for the rest
of the year. They will be held in
the College Annex to the tune of a
w'ell known local hill-billy band.
It will bo open to the .general pub
lic as well as the students.

Soil Subject
Dr. Charles A. Shull, botanist
and soil expert, spoke on “The
Preeent Condition of the World’s
Soil” to members of the student
body in an assembly program on
Tuesday, March 22.
Dr. Shull emphasized his points
by illustrating the conditions of
soil of several coi ntries. He took
up the subject because it was in
line for his next article in the
Sunday edition of the Ashevlllo
Citizen-Times paper.
