Team Teaching
Course Polled
By KATHY BOONE
Team teaclilng is preferred by
the majority of students in the
Introduction by Psychology class.
This was shown on a recent sur
vey given the class at A-B.
More than 70'^ felt that team
teaching did not put teacher -
student relationship on a level
that was to impersonal. Eighty-
six i)er cent of the students said
they were learning more in this
situation than they could in the
single teacher system. Qverone
tiiird however, agreed with the
proposed statement,
“In a team teaching situation,
a teacher does not become fami
liar enough witli his students to
grade them accurately."
Varying comments were made
on the survey sheet. A large
number shared the view that liis
method of instruction gives the
student an opportunity to hear
different ideas and thus are given
a better undei standing of subject
matter. Others thouglit that there
is something lost between student
and teacher in this set up.
One (;erson expressed himself
in this way;
“\\p are con.sidered numbers
in this institution by most all
teachers, so I can't see why team
teaciiiiKr would l>e a (luestion."
