ridgerunner • thursday, January 27, 1972 Meagher, Clarke and Clarke Direct Forum Theatre Productions for Second Term The second year of Forum Theatre at UNC-A began this year with three productions by student directors> Michael Meagher with his productions of a children’s play in the Chinese psychological space, perhaps two different aspects of the same personality locked in a conflict determined by their nature. Fanny: “ain’t that a kick in the ass”) taunts Annie (I’m going to meditate) with a dramatic switch at the end of thexaction. Patsy Clarke put on her pro duction of A. R. Gurney’s “The Love Course” on January 17, determined to make people laugh. The one-act is a farce and a satire about literature as well as literature professors and literature students. Two teachers, a male and a female undertake to teach a course on the literature of love, and the play ends with a hysterical scene with the female teacher seducing the “Renaissance Man” with a scene from Wuthering Heights. The cast featured Michael Meagher, Mary Ann Lampley, Rob Storrs and Lynn tyde. The next Ridgerunner will carry a list of the Forum Theatre productions for the coming term as well as dates. R. Gurney, Jr. on January 17. “The Wonderful Tang” fee itured a cast composed of Kim English, Dee Grier, Peggy Mc- IFadden, Charles Medlin, Joe Smith, Sharon Lyons, Peggy Lyons, Donna Glick, Mary Ann Lampley, Dennis lewter, Rob Storrs, Jeff Summerel, Ginni Markgraf and many others. It centered around the couting contest held by the Emperor for the hand of one of his daughters. The play was put on for child ren, with the children of faculty members invited as well as the students of a day-care center. After the production, members of the cast mingled with the young cookie-munching spectators. On January 12, Andrea Clarke presented “Annie Two-Shoes” in a production which was some thing unique for Forum Series plays in that both the director and the playwright participated in the production which was written especially for the series by Kathleen Kimball. The play, featuring Peggy Mc Fadden, Bronwen Lineback, and Mary Kruziewshi was developed around two characters in a close -"71 1 Andrea Clarke, director of “Annie Two-Shoes”, an original play by Kathleen i Kimball written for the Forum Series.
