page 6 THE RIOGERUNNER October 27,1977 Photo b y Mark West Infirmary Hours (Ed. Note: We printed this two weeks ago. Since that time, several members of the staff plus quite a few other students have contracted terrible and hideous colds. "Nursey” Short has been tremendous in helping ease our discomforts from this ghastly series of victims falling prey to the common cold. If you get a cold, let her help. It’s not charity. Your tuition helps pay for the service.) Many students come to the infimary during the school year and say they did not know about health services; did not know doctors came to campus; and do not know what is available. If you do not know about the infirmary, please clip this article and file it with your reference materials. Nursing service ia available at the infirmary from 8:00 a.m. Monday through 8:00 a.m. Saturday. The Infirmary is closed weekends, but if anyone needs medical help, call a school dortor, contact a campus police officer for help, or go direct ly to the hospital emergency room. There is no charge for infirmary services if you are a registered student. Overnight stays, medications, treatments, or visits to the school doctor at the infirmary are covered by your health fee. All matters discussed are confidential among the medical staff and are not disclosed to outsiders except with your permission. If you are sent to a doctor's office, given a prescription to be filled, or go to a labora tory, or have x-rays, charges are made by the departments involved. We do not have a x-ray or laboratory facilities, so this is not a full-service infirmary. Infirmary open hours. Although nursing service is available 24 hours during weekdays for emergencies that cannot wait until open hours, or occur after the infirmary is closed, the hours open are liberal, enabling students to come for all illnesses except emergencies.
