Don’t miss two amazing art exhibitions in Ramsey Library this
month. "Catching My Breath," an exhibition of 16 black-and-
white photographs by UNC Asheville senior Cassie Floan, is on
view January 14-31 at UNCA's Ramsey Library third floor
gallery.
“Quilts by Charmaine Strong,” an exhibition of 12 quilted wall
hangings, is on view through January 31 at UNC Asheville’s
Blower’s Gallery.
Floan traveled to Italy during spring semester 2002 to study
photography at Lorenzo de'Medici-lnstitute in Florence. The
photographs in the exhibition were taken there using three
different antique cameras.
The daughter of a talented seamstress, Strong bdgan quilting
15 years ago. The Asheville artist creates both traditional and
artistic pieces using a variety of fabrics, including satins,
velvets, and flannels.
Both Galleries are open during regular library hours.
