11 The Barker Need Money for Events? Look No Further! WEEKEND EVENTS FUNDING $$$$ Bring Your Ideas to Life! $$$$ Weekend Events Funding (formerly the Social Life Task Force) is a funding and advisement program designed to help campus groups and departments find extra dollars to help with ON- CAMPUS Friday/Saturday/Sunday programs and activities. The fund assists in developing a greater variety of co-curricular activities for students and the campus in general. A small student/staff/faculty committee deter mines the level of funding for event proposals. The funds are administered through the Office of Student Life. Event production planning help, resources and services referrals are also available through this office. We’re looking for well-thought out EVENTS proposals with plenty of back-up information! Contact Bunny Haiton-Subkis for applications. All deadlines and fund information will be printed every two weeks in the Bulldog Barker as well as posted on bulletin boards outside the offices of Student Life, DH second level. Groups CAN ask for financial help with: per formers’/speakers’ fees or travel costs, their hotel costs; printing or ad placement costs; student wage money for tech help; decorations or event supplies that are not food; rental of equipment, films and more. Weekend Events CANNOT fund: food for events; faculty, staff or student travel or hotel or registration to conferences. DEADLINES • Feb. 21, by 5pm Second Funding Round applications due in DH 226. • Events to be held between Mar. 21 -May 11, 2003. • Second round allocations/notification will be made Feb. 24.
