"I believe students do (take evaluations
seriously) most of the time. I feel the
students look at it more than the
professors do."

"I think the evaulation is a good idea. I
think some of the most important people
to get an opinion from are the students."

"I take them seriously when I fill them
out, hoping that the teachers take them
seriously. (It’s a chance to) improve the
class if it needs improving or to let them
know that what they’re doing is working."

"I think the kids take advantage of it. If
they did badly in the class, they nail the
teacher."

"I think the students do (take them
seriously). If the teacher is a good
teacher, they’re gonna let them know. If
they’re bad, the students are not gonna
give them a good evaluation. I don’t know
how seriously the university takes them;
they should take them seriously."

"I don’t believe that the students take
them that seriously because they don’t feel
that anything is going to come of them.
They think it’s a formality and they’re
(the evaluations) gonna get dumped in the
trash can. As professors go, it would
depend on the school situation. If the
school requires these evaluations for
tenure or promotions, then I think that
instructors take them a little more
seriously."
