FINANCIAL AID SOROPTIMIST SCHOLARSHIP -- Soroptimist International of Asheville is offering the local training awards program of $500 to a deserving woman, to present spring 1990. Recipient will have the opportunity to compete on the regional level for one of two additional awards of $1500. INTERNATIONAL PEACE SCHOLARSHIP - Believing that education is fundamental to world peace and understanding, members of the P.E.O. Sisterhood contribute funds to provide grants-in-aid for selected women from other countries for study in the United States and Canada. Applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in the college or university she will attend; must submit a witnessed statement that upon completion of her degree program, she will return immediately to her own country to pursue her professional career. The award is presented to a full-time faculty member who has earned a reputation for outstanding teaching. All students and alumni are especially invited and encouraged to write letters of nomination specifically detailing why the instructor of their choice should be honored.
