Volleyball team is the comeback kid on Friday

Staring down the barrel of
defeat after dropping the first

Santos didn’t yell, scream
or throw his hands in the air.
Instead he delivered a simple
message to his team: Stay with
it,
“He didn’t change any
strategies,’’ said senior Cindi
Miller, “He just reminded us
of our initial game plan and
told us we needed to do what
was necessary”
Three sets later, the Lady
Bulldogs emerged victorious,
picking up a win in their first
conference game of the year
and giving Santos a victory in
his debut at the Justice Center.
MiUer, who led the squad
with 23 kills, said the tum-
^ound came as a result of
increased defensive intensity
and letting the game come to
them,
“We really had to pick up
our blocking and defense after
the first two sets,” said the out
side hitter, “Once we did that,
the rest of our skills just fell
into place,”
