HUNT, RETIRING EDITOR
(Continued from first page)
work. There is no doubt that he
I is one of the most valuable and
dependaible fellows among the
student body. Lazy is a word not
found in his vocalbulary. In addi
tion to bis studies, he has been
secretary to President Billups.
Never shirking these responsibili
ties, he has won a number of hon
ors and hakj others bestowed upon
him. He has been editor of The
Rectangle; out of the four quar
ters of the school year, he has
held an office in the Newtonian
Literary Society three quarters;
being president during the last
quarter, which is the most diffi
cult period of tJie year. He has
been vice-i>resident of the Fresh
men College class, and secretary
of Professor Lee Weaver’s Sun
day School 'Class. Not the least
among the honors Hunt has .won
is the Newtonian Orator’s Medal.
This is perhaps the most coveted
honor sought in the society, and in
winning first place by unanimous
vote, Hunt has distinguishad him
self. He is also one of the three
men who won out in the prelimi
nary declamation contest, and will
be one of the commencement
speakers in the annual declama
tion contest. To Hunt also goes
the honor of naming and design
ing the present masthead of The
Rectagle.
Though Hunt is just rounding
out his first year at Rutherford,
he has won signal honors and has
endeared himself to the student
body anid faculty, and we all ho-pe
he will return next year.
