If you have not already seen them you soon will. As a rule they are not very talkative and will speak when spoken to. It is the best plan not to stand close behind them when you do speak. This venerable couple of 9 and 11 years respectively are evidently from the “sticks” for they were quite skittish about their first automobile. Even the noise of a mowing machine was too much for them and they ran into a tree before they were able to calm themselves. It has been reported that Mr. Colvard was holding the reins when they broke away. The only damage was a broken mower tongue. Of course you have guessed by now that I am introducing you to the mules, Haley and John, A hive of bees is another new addi tion to the college farm. You will of course want no introduction to them. It has been reported that Frank Penland on one occasion fed twenty- one hogs a hundred pounds of laying mash. You will see them this winter. Clemson Theatre Brevard, N. C. Matinee 3 tc 6 Night 7 to 1 1 Monday-Tuesday, September 23-24 FRED ASTAIRE GINGER ROGEfiS in Top Hat A gay and glorious musical romance... with huge scenes of lavish splendor. Five tremendous new song hits and dance num bers. Nothing so marvelous has been seen on the screen before. Hints for Freshmen When you enter Brevard College you are considered a gentlemen, or a lady. You can do as you like about your work; nobody will make you do it. Be honest with yourself and al ways keep in mind the fact that you are here because of a great life purpose. You are a freshman in college and not a senior in high school. You are not judged by what you say about your “prep school” but by what you do here. All students shouM be in the cheer- gni section at the athletic contests in order to give the team proper support. Every member of the student body should speak to the men of the visit ing teams while they are on the cam^- pus and do all in their power to make them feel at home while here. Don’t think that profanity, cigaret tes, and drinking “booze” make a true college man. Don’t be afraid to say “NO” and stick to it. There will always be com pany with you at Brevard College. Don’t cut out athletics. Get into some form of them and benefit your self. Be a mixer and a credit to the col lege. You will never find time for any thing—if you want time you must make it. Be a gentleman or a lady at the table as well as elsewhere. Be willing to take advice from facul ty and upper classmen alike. Don’t hurry in the selection of your intimate companions. Take time to select the right companions, because it means much to establish yourself with the right company. To be a succss as a student it is nec essary to “shine,, in the class room as in the “bull session.” Don’t lie a rooster, roosting Be a 'booster, (boosting - Boosting Brevard College.
