Every time Bert dates Louis, Susie re pays her and dates Hazel, Guy and Aileen like Saturday nights. Valentine comes but once a year—and these boxes of candy. Some giris rated more than one. J. R. and Midge have started one of those romances. Competition is offered by John Council. Freeman just couldn’t resist keeping in style; so now she has had her visit to the hospital. Woody, Sara Lou, and John-another triangle. Two girls are interested Cotton, and two in Gaston. Those tears in Price’s eyes are on account of—Handsome is living in town. Mary Helen and. her cards from Flori da—the sender is Ed. Kathleen and Willie Belle like week ends, too. Sisk is glad to be back. What Town Hall boy said that there were no girls around here good enough for him? Happy wasn’t so happy while John was in Charlotte. This flu epidemic has separated more than one couple—but not for long. They always recover. Mary Ross and her expected company from State didn’t get together last week end. He stood her up or something. How many of these boys have chosen their sponsors? Marcho likes to dance. Have you heard about Sibyl?-and she is not a Spratt either. Now to answer tlic questions offered by the Mysterious Tornado: 1. Sylvtster likes both Jack and Frank. So there! 2. Virginia Hunter seems to be doing rather well by all. 3. Miss Sizemore is interested in Home Economics. 4. Annie Ruth did give Wearyworld a break. Perhaps she will date him again sometime. 6. About this A. GLUBS Fireside Katherine Brown had charge of the devotionals at the last meeting of The Fireside Club. A very interesting program on First Aid was presented. Those taking part in the program were Ethel Blythe, Miss Sizemore, Edith Allen, and Virginia King. The talks and demonstrations of first aid presented were very interesting and helpful. T ravel The Travel Club has been very fortunate in having Miss Binford at its meetings. Miss Binford gave a very interesting talk about Japan at the last meeting, illustrating her talk with slides and pictures. The attend ance was very good. Dramatic At the last meeting of the Dramatic Club, the members discussed dues and membership, deciding that any mem ber absent from as many as two club meetings, would be excluded from the club. International Relations Mr. Cathey made a very interesting talk to the members of the Inter national Relations Club at their last meeting. Sometimes we start off feeling “Well this is blue Monday; everything’s wrong; we can’t get any-- thing done, so why try?” That’s bad! Then again we start off with an incentive to labor, learn, and live. That’s much better. With this feeling it is possible to accomplish innumerable things. A column is much more interesting and varied if it is composed of clever bits of humor, quips, and epigrains sent in by readers. Therefore, dear people, if you have any inspirations or thoughts, please submit your ideas. They will be greatly apprciated. Can you imagine Mr. Coltrane talking without adding “That’s right” to a force ful statement? Who the mysterious Tornado is? West Hall without Miss Smith and Miss Hayes? Waking up in the morning with your room comfortably warm? Having hot water all the time? A week without eggs for breakfast? The dormitories perfectly quiet?
