Patterson’s •'"Brevard’s 'Shopping Center INSURANCE Tornadoes Drop Game To Biltmore Brevard’s Tornadoes dropped another close game Saturday night, February 7th., to the Ashe- ville-Biltmore Bulldogs by the score of 56-46. The game was a much closer affair than the score indicates, and was every bit as exciting as the 39-38 victory the Tornadoes won from the Bull dogs in Asheville earlier this season. “Bull” Morgan and Hugh Size- more played their last game for the Blue and White, as both of them, graduated this month. The loss of these two first-string ers will greatly lower the Torna does’ chances in the forthcom ing W.N.C. Tournament. MR. AND MRS. WILSON TO LEAVE FOR U.N.C. Exercises For Graduates Held Graduation exercises for 25 college and nine pre-college stud ents were held in the auditorium on Tuesday morning, February 10th. The invocation was led by Rev. W. G. McFarland of the Brevard Methodist church. After the pre sentation of classes by Dean Stevenson, Professor Trowbridge delivered a brief address and awarded the diplomas.''Dean Stev enson then announced the hon ors among the college graduates as follows: high honors, Jasper Donnell Dudley and Williami Darr Wise; honors, Wilmer Partee Wilson. In the pre-college divis ion, Alma Faye Suttle and David Reagan Duncan graduated with high honors, and Ruth Elaine Ash worth with honors. The benedic tion was announced by Rev. Mr. Duncan of the Flat Rock Circuit. Music for the program was fur nished by Mrs. Louise P. Miller and Mr. Malvin N. Artley. Mar shals were Kenneth Gouge, Edna Norton, Alvan Martin, Arnold McPeters and Nancy Ingram. PATRONIZE OUR ADVERTISERS Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Wilson are planning to leave Brevard the 25 of this month for the University of North Carolina, where Wilmer will work toward his degree in accounting. Mrs. Wilson; the former Helen Crow, came to Brevard in Septem ber, 1946, and last year was. on the faculty of the commercial depart ment. This year she has assisted in the college offices. Wilmer came here in the summer of 1946, and graduated from the college division this week. Tay lor Hall, names need not be mentioned, will certainly miss “Speed” and Tucker . . . And as- far as that goes, all of our grads are going to be missed and we hope they'll miss us too Hey Duke, anything wrong? You’ve been doing an awful lot of “Beefing” lately .... Poor “Shrimp” sure did get a lot of ribbing about her ankle Mellard is doing her best—her very best—to make the new stud ents feel at home . . . .Manteo keeps close tag on Charlie, but kmda’ think he likes it Dixie and Fred look oh so hap py about the whole thing. The rings a beauty! ..... We hear newcomer Ed Chappell is cute- better look into it some of you lonGsome lassi©s . . .
