September 23,1949 THE CLARION PAGE FIVE B" ..Q Pine Whispers Well, well, here we are back at Brevard. I hope everyone is ready for a large year. So remember, if yoii’re human, there will be whis pers; and when there are whis pers, just watch this little old column. We’re off. It’s good to see that the sum mer helped to make the flame barn even brighter between Milly D-vidson and Ralph Anderson, Mickey Case and Don Helms. Whiffer is still going for Joann Schaeffer, in spite of a trying v^eek end and some heavy teasing these last few days. We wonder if Sonny Allen has had as much trouble as we have deciding which of the Gossman sisters is cuter. Bateye didn’t waste any time in singling out one of our dark eyed, dark-haired freshmen for himself. Neither does he waste much time on anyone else, for a change! Can anyone get the connection between Hershey’s visit Sunday and Janie’s date with Bruce Mon day night? Beats me. Bam Bam isn’t selfish with that old charm of his—he tries to give all the little girls a huge thrill. We notice that, D. P. is still true to his gal back home. Too bad he was taken before the B. C girls had a chance. The boys aren’t the only ones who can make a try for the locals Eh, Evon? P. R. is out in the field once more. We would advise all the boys to keep up their guard, and the girls to let us know if they find a Casteen-proof way of de fense. (Just kidding, of course P. R.) Ebby and Ernie are falling all over each other to see which can make the best time with Joyce Wilhelm. Here’s to the victor, our congratulations! Ginger, how does it feel to have Thomas up here with you for a whole year? We notice that Bob and Lib started the year right. They still have that certain look in their eyes. “Mac”, who is the boy who es corted you Jo the movies last week and this past Monday night? Pat, is it true that you have Bobby Hauss snowed? Seems that Chester has been having to go to the dentist pretty often. Margaret, is it you or foot ball that does such things to him? We guess Maria will be count ing the days till Christmas, es- pecialiy since Hosea will come then. Eh, Maria? Dale and “Speedy” are to gether again, and we’re glad. We think that they are a real fine couple. Someone told us that Dot Wal lace liked the movie the other night. Or maybe we’ve got it backwards—could it be the com pany that she liked? It seems that several of the girls over at West Hall are after Manuel. Watch that stuff, Manuel. Looks as if the boys from Con cord and Kannapolis like home town girls best. Russell G., are you trying to make a survey of the girls on campus, or haven’t you found one you like yet? ^ “Florida”, if you don’t stop flashing those brown eyes at the girls, you’ll soon have a string of females a mile long following you. All we have to say to Eddie and Mary Jo is just this: “Keep up the good work.” Guess by now you’ve all noticed that cute gal from Junalu?}ca- Natalie, by name. Well, kids, if we didn’t hear Collegre Student Body Officers For 1949-’50 Pictured above are the student body officers chosen in last year’s campus elections to serve during the 1949-’50 school term.
