Installs New Officers Here At Special Service A special installation servic3 was held for newly-elected officers of the Brevard college Christian Fel lowship club here Wednesday eve ning, May 6, in the Dunham Hall auditorium. The inipressive cere mony was conducted by Norma June Merritt, retiring president of the campus group, at the regular mid-week vesper service. Replacing Miss Merritt as presi dent of the student organization is Mack Morne Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Armstrong, Route 1, Bessemer City. Armstrong has been active in student council work, athletics and religious work at Brevard. He is a ministerial student. Elected vice president' for next year is Jack Anderson, isbn of Mrs. I. S. Anderson, of White Hall, South Carolina. Anderson is newly elected president of both the Com mercial and Dramatics clubs; he is also a member of the Monogram club. Installed as secretary-treasurer is Dora Ella Huss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Huss, of Vale. Miss Huss is a member of the Mnemo- synean literary society. . Commission Chairman Installed Also installed at the evening ser vice were Jane Edwards, of Char lotte, as chairman of the worship commission; Nancy Carson, of Bel mont, and William Whitlow, of Mount Mourne, as co-chairmen of tliifT^creaTdon cbmmiMion; and co- charimen Melvin McIntosh and Stowe Hull of the publicity com mission. The altar for the service was decorated with a white linen cloth, centered by a slanting white cross with white tapers. Lighted tapers also decorated the organ. Nancy Hager was organist. Adviser for the club is the Rev. C. Edward Roy, head of the Bre vard college department of relig ion, and director of admissions for the college. Baseball Team Wins 2 Conference Games The Brevard Baseball Tornadoes won their first and second confer ence wins in two seasons recently by defeating the Asheville-Biltmore Bulldogs 11-6, and taking one end of- a double-header from- North Greenville by the count of 5-1.
