Each outgoing student officer transferred the symbolic robe of authority to the shoulders of the incoming student who was elected to his office. Euteirpeans Elect Carson, President At a recent meeting of the Euter- pecn society, new officers were elected for the coming year. Nancy Carson was elected president of the society, while Rachel Meaders was elected vice president. Martha Washam, outgoing presi dent of the society, announced that Uie Euterpeans had voted in favor of a proposal to assist the MnemO' synean sociey wih plans for he farewell dance which will be held at the college. Parks pitched hitless ball for 4 complete innings. Bobo McMakin led the Brevard hitters, collecting 3 hits in 5 trips for the day. Jimmy Bame ran a close second, collect ing 4 for 7. Brevard was well on its way to another victory May 19, leading Blue Ridge School for Boys 2-0 be fore the game was called in the second inning because of rain. McIntosh Heads Zeta Chapter Of Sigma Pi Melvin McIntosh was elected president of the Zeta chapter of Sigma Pi Alpha, national language honor fraternity, at the final meet ing of the year on Wednesday, May 28. Other officers elected were June Craft, vice president, and Bruce McGuire, secretary-treasurer. Mary Dean, outgoing club presi dent, presented to the new mem bers their fraternity pins and cer tificates of membership^ She also presented a gift from the club mem bers to Miss Dulcie Hayes, club ad viser. Miss Hayes presented a certifi cate to the outgoing president, in recognition of her scholastic achievement.
