Is everyone satisfied with ev ery little thing going on at Brevard College. Perhaps there were not a sufficient dents reading the paper to have much response. Still, tnei were 500 issues of The Clarion distributed. The new schedules should be ready for distribution Tuesday afternoon, April 16th. ‘ The reason for advanced regis tration is two-fold. It makes it pos- i sible for the college to give rising sophomores the first choice of classes over the incoming fresh men,” states Dean Stevenson. He 1 continues, “Another advantage is Ith-it it gives the student more op portunity to consult his advisor.” I All students are urged to con- .-i;lt their advisors. The student is also requested to check the cata- , lo"’ for the requirements of the in- -tilution to which he plans to trans fer. Since the sophomores register before they leave school, they have several e.xtra days at the be ginning of the fall semester. This Flives the administration a chance ?lso to determine the need for new and advanced courses. Dean Stevenson wishes to empha size, "Anyone planning to attend hrevard College next year should pre-register. If a student wishes to change a course during the sum- mtr, he may do so.” Committee To Study Status, Needs Of Methodist Colleges ^ ^ . gestion box is (this is encouraging). When one has a chance to get their feelings and thoughts considered, it is very unusual for them to sit back; and do nothing. Complacency is worse than a disease. 1 Is Science Really Magic? You’ll v^onder if you go to the science building Friday night. The Alpha Beta Gamma, the EMA, and the Physics and Mathematics De partments will present a Science Fair, April 19th, from 6:30 to 9:00. The Fair will feature some of the more extraordinary and interest ing “magic” found in our every day life and ably revealed through science Uonal meeting were: Dean Iona Berry, president; Mrs. G. W. Gal loway, vice president; Mrs. Jack From BY KAY JOHNSON Did everyone catch up on some much needed sleep during the holi days? (Or rather, is eveyrone catch ing up on some much needed sleep as a RESULT of the holidays?) Do you realize what time it is? Hadn’t thought much about it, huh? Well, it’s about one week un til Mr. Roy’s book report, two weeks until Mr. McFadden’s Lit. term paper, around three weeks until May Day, six weeks until the annuals arrive, seven weeks until exams, and aibout eight weeks un til graduation. Then where will we all be? Frightening, isn’t it . . . Members of the Brevard College Glee Club were treated in the course of their successful and en joyable trip to a rendition of the “Rockingham Rock” by Rockin’ Charlie Adams and his “Rocking Rogues” — Don Oglesby, Harvey Pulliam and Howard Martin. It was on this extensive journey that the group, who had previously thought Charlie to be just a regular fel low, discovered him to be quite a bilinguist — being able to, er, ipeak in a decidedly foreign ton gue. There have been specula tions as to the origin of this lan guage — which poses the question: Just where is Mount Airy located?! Congratulations and sincere good wishes to Jackie and Munsie on their recent engagement. It could n’t happen to two nicer people. Speaking of nice people, Betty Pearson would have been deeply saw enough to convince him that this is probably one of the most in teresting programs that has been planned on the campus this year. It will certainly be worth your time to attend and enjoy these scien tific phantasmics. The EMA will have an exhibit on electronics and mechanics in room 2 of the Science Building and an exhibit on aviation in room 3. The Alpha Beta Gamma will dem onstrate some spectacular chemi cal reactions in room 5, the regu lar Chemistry lab. The Physics and Mathematics Department will be in room 4, the regular Physics lab, and there will possibly be a dis play of Engineering Drawing plates in the Engineering Drawing room, S-6. A lot of work and time has gone into the planning of this fair, and there will be a lot more of both concentrated on this effort before April 19th. So let’s all meet at the Science Building Friday night and bring our friends. Bring ’em or tell ’em to come. See ya there!
