Allison, of Old Fort, will major in elementary education. She will continue her studies at Western Carolina. Warren Jennings Atkinson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Nolte, of Jfedcsonville, Fla., is majoring in lengineering. He will attend Clem- ■son College this fall. -Clegg Wallace Avett, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Avett, of Hud- .son, Nortih Carolina, will graduate witi an A. A. degree. He plans to enter the University of North Caro lina this fall, and will major in journalism. ®ili Barnes, son of Dr. W. C. JBames otf Charleston, S. C., Ls plan- ming to enter High Point College this fall. He will work toward a ■degree in music there, and will do graduate work at some either insti- fliilion. Charles Alexander Brown III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Alex ander Brown, Jr., of Cleveland, will major in forestry. Stephen Webb Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Brown of Asiheville,! will receive his A. A. degree from! liere. He plans to go into the minis Ijy, and will enter High Point Col lege, and from then he will go to Emory Seminary. Dee Carden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carden, of Concord, plans to major in art. Her future is undecided. Thomas Eugene Carpenter, son cf Mr. and Mrs. Alton Carpenter, «f Gherryville, will major in busi ness adlministration. His plans are indesfinite. Martha Helen Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilibert Clark of Con- com, plians to major in history and elementary education, and will con tinue her ^Jtudies at Catawiba Col lege. She will con tinue her education ait W.C.U.N.C. Sara Faulkner Cox, dauighter of Mr. H. L. Cox, of Lexington, is majoring in English. Her plans are incomplete. Lee 0. Creede of Green^oro, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oeede. Lee is a business admini stration major and hasn’t decided ahout his future, other tlhan his wife and family. John Paul Davenport is a religion major and plans to attend Appa lachian State Teachers College next year. Paul and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L DavenpoI^t, are from Ingalls. Thomas Austin Dickens is a lib eral arts major and plans to attend Western Carolina next year to take a concentration course in radio and television. Tom is from Black Mountain, as are his parents, Mr and Mrs. A. Austin Dickens, Donna Rebecca Dotson is an Eng lish major and plans to attend either High Point or Western Caro lina College next year. Donna is from Black Mountain, and her par ents are Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Dotson. Margaret H. (Peggy) Edmiston is from Jacksonville, Fla., and plans to major in religion. Peggy plans to go to Scarritt College next year, £.nd when she graduates, help keep juvenile delinquents out of jail. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Edmiston. Betty Lind Eure from Morehead City, is a psychology major. Betty plans to attend Ohio State next year. She is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. H. M. Eure also of More- head City. Kenneth Wayne Faulkner from Gas^tonia, will attend the Univer sity of Noi"th Carolina next year but he is not sure of his major. Ken’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. C. D, Bradley of Gastonia. Indian Trail, is the ihome of Roger Craig Ford. Craig is plan ning to major in religion at High Point College nexit year. His par ents are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ford. James Gant of WaUcertown, is interested in foreign language as a vocation. Jim plans to attend Pfeiffer College next fall. His par ents are Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Gant. Although Charles WiUiam Gibbs is undecided about his immediate future he does plan to study engi- r.eering later. Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs, John B, Gibibs of Ne'bo. Richard j Eric Greene, from Oteen is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Wm. A. Greene. Eric will major in English with an area in journalism and radio at Western Carolina Col lege. Richard Eugene Greene is the son of Mr, and Mrs. J. E. Greene, from Asheville. Richard’s toajor field is science. He plans to con tinue in this field. Edna Telfair Grimes is the daughter of Mrs. Edna J, Grimes of Sahsibury, Edna’s major is pri mary education. She plans to get married this summer and find a job. Francis Amsden Guffey, Jr., is the son of Mr. and Mrs, F. A, Guf fey, Sr., of Oak Hill, West Virginia Francis’ major field is engineering! He plans to work on road construc tion this sulmimer. t A day student from here in Bre vard, Lois HamUton is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hamil ton, Lois will major in elementary education at Western Carolina Col- lege and will become a teacher in the giiammer .grades after her graduation, B^ty Lou Harper is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hanper from [Marble. Betty’s major field is home economics. She plans to go to Woman’s College in Greens-boro, next year. After she graduates from W,C., she plans to do work in Home Extension, Joseph S. Harris is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Jack D, Harris, or Asheville. Joe’s major field is per sonnel management. Next year, he plans to go to University of North Carolina, Leroy Hill is the son of Mr, and Mrs, Roy L, Hill, of Thomasville, Leroy’s major field is business ad ministration, Leroy plans to go to High Point College next year in furthering his field in business ad ministration, Beverly Jo Holloway is t he daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Virgil Holloway frOm Waynesville, Bev erly’s major field is pre-nursing. She plans to go into nurses’ train ing next year, Celia Irene Hooper is the daugh ter of Mr, and Mrs, Ferry Hooper,' of Canton, Celia’s major field is elementary education, Celia will graduate with an A, A, degree and next year she plans to go to Berea College, There she plans to get a Master’s degree in English, Betty Lou Hornaday is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs, Royall Stamey Hornaday, of Asheville, Betty’s major field is Medicine, She will receive an A, A, degree and next year she plans to go to the Univer sity of North Carolina, When she graduates from the University, she plants to be a doctor, Paul Anderson Howard, Jr., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A Howard Sr., of Kings Mountain, Andy’s major field is mechanical engineering. He plans to go to Clemson and after he graduates from Clemson, he plans to go into the service. Graceful ballerina Susan Hunt comes to us from Gastonia, She is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, 0. R, Hunt, Susan will go to Appalachian State Teacher’s College, w^here she will study elementary education. From across the mountains comes Rayford Jenkins of Clyde. He is the son of Mr, and Mrs, E, M, Jenk ins, Rayford will enter the Univer sity of North Carolina this fall to study dhemisftry and industrial re lations. After that, he plans to se cure a position in the field of busi ness administration, Helen Jane Johnson is the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Wright of Canton. Helen’s major field is primary education. Next year she plans to go to Appalachian College and after she graduates from Appa lachian she plans to teach. major, Charles Jen- vinf w Ashe- ville^He is the son of Mr. and Mrs, from m After graduation from Pfeiffer College, he -plans to teach fine arts. From the “Land of the Morning Calm” comes Choo Kim, son of Mr, and Mrs, Yong Chin Kim, Choo’s plans are to further his major, engineering, at M,I,T, or North Carolina State and then return to Korea to work. Old Kong Kong sent us Chi Kong Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Y, 0, Lee. Ciemson is C, K, Lee’s choice of colleges. There he will work with civil engineering. After that, he plans to pursue a career in engi neering. From the big city of Maiden, Mr, £.nd Mrs. W, P, Lineberger sent their son, Harold Lee to BJC, Har old is majoring in chemistry and plans to attend the University of Tennessee, Who wants to teach English? From Concord comes the answer— joe Lester Li taker, son of Mrs. Eleanor Litaker. High Point is Joe’s choice of colleges in which to pur sue his English career. Her major field is religion, and her ambition is to be a director of' Chris'tian education. This is Sara Lowdermilk, daughter of Mrs, T, F, Lowdermilk of Asheboro, Sara will attend Pfeiflfer College after her graduation. We all know Judith Arlene Mc Manus, as Judy, the smiling gal who has had the hard jdb of editing the CLARION, She is the daugh ter of Mrs. Juanita McManus of Charlotte, Judy will study English education at Pfeiffer, while work ing in the field of journalism. This summer, she plans to have a job with the Charlotte News and Ob server, It is very noticeable from that slow southern way of speajking that she is from Charleston, S, C, This is Carole Emmy Mappus, {he daugh ter of Mr, and' Mrs, H, Mappus. Carole plans to become an X-ray technician, Colum'bia, S, C„ is the home of Donald Marchant, son of Mr. and Mrs. C, B, Marchant. This boy likes figures so well that he plans to enter the field of accounting after he graduates from the University of South Carolina. How could Mrs, Lobdell have run the biology lab this year without Allison Sherrill Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs, I, R, Michael of Lexing ton? Sherrill will major in German at the University of North Carolina. Minerva Morgan plans to become a primary education teacher after finisihing East Tennessee State Col lege, Minerva is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, C. S, Morgan, of Democrat, Elizabeth Suter Neale of Char lotte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Neale, plans to attend High Point College.
