Why do most people see the bad before the good and some people make some thing bad out of that which is good. In the basics of morality, psychologists tell us, we each have two sides — good and evil, which constantly struggle. We struggle in our own way, and eventually one side or the other will win., “Saints” are rarely recognized; however, headlines splash with colorful pictures of wrecks and crime and news stories gorge on de ceit and hatred. In our own personal lives, too, we are guilty of lifting from innocence a picture of dis taste and warped realism. Thus we ?ive others a past from which to o"un and no future to which they can go. A fire broke out in the builci- ;ng in October of 1950, which nearly destroyed the interior of the building. Dunham Hall was closed for a year with the library housing all the of- 'i’C-s, parties, chapels, and ev en graduation. It was reopen- f d the following fall, the in terior completely renovated. The Lena Sue Beam Dorm was fir>i.shed during the summer of ■'966 to become the newest building on campus. Because of (he length of time needed to complete it, the school year 't^rted a month later than was planned. Dedicated on October 13, (he dorm has the capacity to room 180 students. The modern nterior decoration enhances the looks of the dorm. The visitors, who received guided tours of the building during Hcmecoming, compared the new dorm quite favorably Avith *lio.®e in larger institutions. The girls, whose home it is, say they “love it.” Because it is only two months old, the building has few tra ditions. But it began with the pnnual decorations for the homecoming alumni.
