Springfest ’82
A ‘Stompin’ Good Time
by Craig Wilson
Brevard College decided to
start its Springfest on Thursday,
April 15, with Life and Culture.
The Brevard College Band
played tunes that not many knew
but were still enjoyed by the au
dience. Next on the schedule was
Kier Irmiter featured at the Cof
fee House.
Springfest resumed after
classes on Friday the 16th. A
volleyball net was set up for those
who wanted to run in and try to
spike a few, A dance and a double
feature movie, scheduled for the
yard, were moved to the S.U. due
to rain.
The rain continued and the
scheduled events for Saturday
were either postponed or moved
to the auxiliary gym. The Plum
Hollow Band, a modern blue-
grass band, entertained those
who came to the indoor picnic.
Plum Hollow continued to play
after the food was packed away.
The music was so good that a few
students ventured out and did a
little “stomping.” The Nelson
Young Band was next up for
pickin’ to a light turn-out of
Brevard College students.

Women’s
Tennis
by Cecil Collier
The Women’s Tennis team has
had an important season this
year. Most of the players feel that
the season has gone extremely
well overall. Sharlyn Hamilton
top seed player feels that, “prac
tice is hard but it pays off in the
end.” She adds that “so far this
season, it has been fun and ex
citing.” Most of the players are in
agreement about the enjoyable
season, Mary Gay Michaels says
that “I love playing on the tennis
team because it has given me a
lot of experience and I have had a
lot of fun and I love my doubles
partner!” For the rising
sophomores, next season looks
promising. Leigh Andrews com
ments that “it’s been a great ex
perience and a lot of fun and I
can’t wait to do it again next
year.” On the other hand, Beth
Martinson feels that “it was a lot
of fun and I expecially liked
eating dinner out on college
money.” Congratulations to the
Women’s Tennis team for their
enduring season.
