Springfest ’82 A ‘Stompin’ Good Time by Craig Wilson Brevard College decided to start its Springfest on Thursday, April 15, with Life and Culture. The Brevard College Band played tunes that not many knew but were still enjoyed by the au dience. Next on the schedule was Kier Irmiter featured at the Cof fee House. Springfest resumed after classes on Friday the 16th. A volleyball net was set up for those who wanted to run in and try to spike a few, A dance and a double feature movie, scheduled for the yard, were moved to the S.U. due to rain. The rain continued and the scheduled events for Saturday were either postponed or moved to the auxiliary gym. The Plum Hollow Band, a modern blue- grass band, entertained those who came to the indoor picnic. Plum Hollow continued to play after the food was packed away. The music was so good that a few students ventured out and did a little “stomping.” The Nelson Young Band was next up for pickin’ to a light turn-out of Brevard College students. Women’s Tennis by Cecil Collier The Women’s Tennis team has had an important season this year. Most of the players feel that the season has gone extremely well overall. Sharlyn Hamilton top seed player feels that, “prac tice is hard but it pays off in the end.” She adds that “so far this season, it has been fun and ex citing.” Most of the players are in agreement about the enjoyable season, Mary Gay Michaels says that “I love playing on the tennis team because it has given me a lot of experience and I have had a lot of fun and I love my doubles partner!” For the rising sophomores, next season looks promising. Leigh Andrews com ments that “it’s been a great ex perience and a lot of fun and I can’t wait to do it again next year.” On the other hand, Beth Martinson feels that “it was a lot of fun and I expecially liked eating dinner out on college money.” Congratulations to the Women’s Tennis team for their enduring season.
