The nationally ranked Tor nados played a fair game, trail ing 1-0 at the half after missing a penalty kick earlier in the game. In the second half, the Tornados did not fare much better, despite valiant efforts at goal. Anderson put the finishing touches on the game, scoring late in the second period to hand Brevard its first defeat of the regular season. On Saturday, September 15, the Tornados traveled to Montreat- Anderson and defeated the Cavaliers 4-0. Alfredo Moya scored two goals, and Leo Col eman and John Folckemer each added a goal. Brevard dominated the entire match giving up only four shots on goal. On Wednesday, September 19, the Tornados traveled to South Carolina to challenge Spartanburg-Methodist College. Despite another close contest, the Tornados lost 3-2. Trailing 3-1 at the half, Brevard could not fare better than a single goal in the se cond period to come within one point of S-M.
