The bright red painting served as a centerpiece for the annual session of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church held in June. BC rates tops at recent Coliday The annual college holiday, “Coliday,” wound up last week with 50 high school youth from the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church taking a whirlwind tour of the five Methodist colleges in the area. Of the colleges — Greensboro, Pfeiffer. High Point, Bennett and Brevard College — the students rated Brevard first in terms of activities, preparation and hous ing. Brevard’s efforts were coordinated by Director of Admissions Bud Christman, who says the purpose of Coliday is to ex pose the youth to the five Methodist col leges. At Brevard, students were shown the new state-of-the-art computer center, given an entertaining lecture by BC artist Tim Murray, and treated to the finest entertainment the Blue Ridge Mountains can provide at Sliding Rock where the fun is wet and wild down the gentle waterfall into the icy pool below. In follow-up interviews, more students requested additional material from Brevard College than any of the other schools. BC Dean of Admissions Dana Paul praised Christman and Admissions Counselor Mike Gantt for their efforts. 0 BC art professors Tim Murray and Bill Byers with their own Window.” ‘Rose BC trombone Two win Duke Scholarships to BC Student wins top honors A Brevard College trombone student has won the 1987 International Trombone Association Competition.
