For the Elites, “Nut” Richards dominated by scoring both touchdowns. They scored the extra point on a pass to Wayne Graham.The only Gunkie’s touchdown was scored by Grant Thomp son. On Monday, Nov. 14, co-ed intramural volleyball began. Teams must have a minimum of six players. The teams must consist of at least three females. Action during the championship round between the Elites and the Gunkies. Sports BC Tornadoes win Classic by Ricky Montgomery ( hiruHi Hpfutrter The Brevard College men’s basketball team opened their season last Friday night, Nov. 11, winning the North Green ville Classic. The men came away with a win over Limestone’s Jayvee team as Darren Lawler led the Tornadoes in scoring with 23 points. Jason Williams added 21 points and Mike Cole had six rebounds to help the Tornadoes come awav with a 86-74 win. On November 12 the EC’s men team fac ed Oplethorpe, winning by the score of 75-56. Marcus Allen led the Tornadoes in scor ing with 14 points. Harvey Cozart controll ed the boards pulling down eight rebounds. On the defensive end of the court Ron Con nor had six blocked shots. “I think we looked good as a team and we played well together as a team,” said captain Ron Connor. Confoience wiflbe up for grabs by Juan Kincaid The Western Carolinas Junior College Conference is up for grabs this year, ac cording to Brevard College men’s basket ball Coach Doug Rogers. “North Greenville, Anderson, Lees- McRae, Spartanburg Methodist and Brevard will make the conference one of the toughest in the country,” Rogers said. The conference is being expanded to seven teams with the new additions of Louisburg and Chowan Junior Colleges. We’re looking to improve in all areas of our game...I’m very optimistic about this year’s team and conference, “Rogers said. “Our running game will make us a very competitive team,” Rogers continued.
