The Clarion November 10. 1992 Eafi£-I k: Homestead and Nashville by Will Parker Sports Editor While most Brevard College students packed up and went home, a handful decided to go elsewhere and earn some Project Inside-Out hours. One group headed toward Homestead, Florida, while the other group went to Nashville, Tennessee. The departure time for the Nashville trip was 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. The estimated time of arrival at Hobson United Methodist Church was 7:30 p.m. Instead, thanks to the traffic in Knoxville, we arrived close to 10 p.m. After getting settled, some of us went straight to bed while others stayed up and got to know each other better. The next day the group went to Opry Land for the day. At Opry Land we found out so many interesting things about country music and we rode some pretty awesome rides. The shows we went to see weren’t bad either. Unfortunately, the next day we had to work. We spent most of the afternoon painting the halls in the church. The next day, Monday, was more of the same. We finished up around 1:30 in the afternoon and spent the remainder of the day at another church helping with the kids and their homework. The last day of our trip we made visual aids for the kindergartners and first-graders. At 2:30 with joyous memories we set out for home and arrived between 8:30 and 9. thus concluding another successful PIO service trip.
