Brevard College has had problems in the past with kids coming on campus and skateboarding down the hills, off the steps of the library, and in front of administration building. The college checked with their insurance company, and was told that there was a high-risk factor and it was best for them to ban the usage of skateboards. The college talked about constructing a building where kids as well as students could skateboard, but the insurance company did not go for it. Although this is a fun, recreational sport, students have to understand the liability that is involved. A few years back a student was skateboarding in the lobby of the old Student Union building and shattered a huge glass window. From that moment on, Brevard College knew they had to enforce this law. Students who are caught skateboarding will receive a fair warning, but if the problem seems to prolong, necessary actions will be taken. includes handicapped accessible bathrooms, was first used during this production.
