The Clarion May..3t 1993 Page 4 Campus Comes Alive Spring Fest, Track Meet, And Other Activities Came Together At BC This Past Weekend Brevard College celebrated spring in grand fashion on Saturday, with music, food, sports, sunshine and fun filling every comer of campus. From the porch of Jones, a reggae band jammed throughout the entire afternoon for Spring Fling 1993. The quad was filled with BC students enjoying the beautiful weather, playing volleyball, eating, and even getting bowled across the lawn in a spherical cage. The students, according to Dean Norm Witek, always ask for something different, and Student Affairs, along with the ARA food service staff, obliged with a picnic lunch consisting of veggie pitas, crawfish, and alligator meat. Though these offerings were a little bizarre for many people’s tastes, there was a selection of ham and turkey for the less adventuresome. Across campus, the BC track team was in action in the only home meet this year. Spectators lounged in the sun as the team competed against UNC- Asheville, Berea College and Carson- Newman. The men’s and women’s soccer teams also saw action in scrimmages, with friends and alumni joining in. The fun continued into the evening on and off campus. Some of the BC athletes and coaching staff were seen competing in softball games at North Broad Park, and reports continue to trickle in about fun near Cashiers.
