Photographer Stepp is more
than just a flash in the pan
by Alex Bedient
Clarion Staff Writer
You are sitting in the S.U.
laughing with your friends. Suddenly
you see a flash fire. You look around
and discover that you a have been
immortalized on film by Clarion
photographer, Henry Stepp.
Henry Stepp II was born on May
21, 1974 in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina, where he has lived for all of
his life. He has twin sister. Holly, who
he calls his best friend. “She’s the
coolest person I have ever meet. I just
hope 1 never forget her birthday,” Stepp
In 1992 Stepp graduated form
Robert B. Glenn High School in the
nearby town of Kemersville, N.C. He
started to hear of Brevard College
though all the information that he
received in the mail from the college.
The one thing that really impressed him
about the college was that the letter
from admissions were addressed directly
to Henry, not “Dear Prospective
Student” He also liked the look of the
campus and the small college
Stepp has become involved in
various extracurricular activities around
campus. He is a member of Wesley
Fellowship, Unity, and S.G.A. Social
Broad. However, he is probably better
known for his job as Photo Editor for
The Clarion. “I really like taking
pictures. It’s a good way the get people
to smile, and it’s a great way to flirt
with girls.” He stared taking pictures
for his high school yearbook as a way
of avoiding writing stories.
