The Cladfil] Wednesday. November 9. 1994 Page 4 Spooks come out on Halloween for good cause by Robert Holland Clarion Staff Writer In a county that bears the name Transylvania, one would assume that Halloween at Brevard College would be terrifying. For the students who attended the Haunted House at Ross Hall, it was. The Friday and Saturday before Halloween from the hours of 8 p.m. until midnight and 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Monday, the spooks came out of their graves and tombs and traveled to Ross Hall to present a night of sheer terror. With a small admission of S3, students and community members were given a tour of two floors of a building that was at one time a Civil War Hospital which housed the morgue in the basement. All the rooms narrated a different theme with all the monslrositics from a chainsaw wielding psycho to demonically possessed women. Another room forced you to witness the embalming of an unfortunate individual. The lighting which included strobe lights and black lights only added to the suffering. Outside the house students were selling pizza, popcorn and hot cider for anyone that became famished while waiting in the unending line. This event of misery was made possible by B.C. Recycles, the Social Bojird, and the Fine Arts Department. Beth Fisher, the student leader of B.C. Recycles, expressed, “The turn out was excellent.” She addressed that all the money made was going to be divided evenly between the three groups. The Haunted House was also an opportunity for students to acquire much needal PIO hours. Fisher declared a catchphrase for the attraction with the words, “You WILL get scared, you MAY get spooked.” For all of us that went, we know she spoke with sincerity. Clockwise from left: An unidentified chef/doctor made sure that there were plenty of hot eyeballs to go around; Mindy Rusch, reclining, should look into her health care benefits if this is the kind of medical care she is receiving; and Dana Dudzinski had to be put on a short rope to keep her from attacking the visitors to the BO Haunted House.
