The young Brevard Baseball Team
started their second season on fire, with
7-1 record.
In the first two games against Young
Harris, Brevard lost 4-3 and won 3-2.
Since that first game against Young
Harris, Brevard has been on a roll,
winning their last seven games.
The team just finished up a six game
weekend, winning all six games. On
Friday, Feb. 23, Brevard swept USC-
Salkehache. The first game was a close
one, but Brevard still came out on top 4-
3. The second game Brevard came out
with a vengeance and destroyed USC-
Salkehache 13-1.
The next day Brevard barely
continued their winning streak by
squeaking by Truett-McConnell 2-1 in the
first game, but like the day before the
team came out of the second game
winning 11-5.
On Simday, Brevard finished their
weekend with two more wins against
Montreal-Anderson. The first game was
still a close one, 4-2. The second game
Brevard easily won 7-5.

Cross Country Looks Toward the Future
William Baldwin
Sports Writer
Looking towards the future is what
Brevard’s Track and Cross Country team
has been doing. Brevard College has
been known to produce high quality
running athletes. This reputation has
made it hard for these athletes to choose
a new institution.
In the past two years, Brevard’s
Track and Cross Country team has
developed talented athletes that exceed
the junior college level.
Certain individuals have already
chosen their next college. John
McMillian has verbally committed with
Clemson University. When asked what
he liked most about Clemson, John
stated, “There are a lot more people and
it is closer to home.”
Roger Clark has picked East
Tennessee State University. Roger is a
native fi"om Tennessee, and he thinks that
being closer to friends and family will
improve grades and better his running.
John Johnson is going north to West
Kentucky. John took a visit last month
and absolutely loved it. When asked why
he liked Kentucky so much, John
exclaimed, “The training facilities were
wonderful and food was better than
average.”
Going east to North Carolina State
University is Chris Pluchos. Being a
high quality athlete, Chris has had the
time of his life choosing a school to fit his
needs. Chris says training at State is very
similar to Brevard. He thinks this will
continue his success and further him
towards the Olympics. Chris has always
dreamed of going to a Division I school,
and now his dream has come true.
Bill Baldwin has already signed a full
scholarship with Western Carolina
University. Bill has proven himself
competing against Division I schools;
moreover, he thinks Western will
continue his success and set him closer to
his Olympic dream.
