Additions Revamp Volleyball
Squad

The 2003-2004 Brevard College Volleyball team returns
only four starters from the 2002 lineup. The upperclassmen
returning this year who will lead the team on and off the court,
include, junior, Maegan Bodiford, junior and team captain, Jenn
Miller. Sophomores returning include,
, Beth McGowan and Hart Chandler.

Bodiford, Jr., Candice Scroggs, Fr.,

Marquessa Chappell, Fr., and
Brittany Hilton, Fr.
When asked how her team is
I doing this far into the season. Coach
1 Skeffington replies, “Great team
effort.’ Our team is peaking at the
right time for playoffs. With seven new players on the team
this year, I am very pleased with our game performance,
think we have the best passing and defense in the conference.
Two Juniors Jenn Miller and Maegan Bodiford have Passed
consistently well on serve receive. Our new freshmen i ers
have done an exceptional job transitioning to the quic ness o
the college game and they are all improving every ma c . am
looking forward to the Conference Tournament,
The volleyball team is facing many opponents. The vyious
team contributions will help them as they go on to compe e in
their district, regionals, and state playoffs.
Brevard Baseball:
Season Preview

A team here at Brevard College that needs no
introduction, the Brevard College Baseball
team is storm chasing their way to the top this
year.
The Tornados have 20 returning players.
Of the 20 returning, eight starting position
players and seven are pitchers. The eight
positional starters include senior at shortstop,
Chad Nance; senior third baseman, Scott
Lefler; senior second baseman, Travis Free;
junior first baseman, Ray Gill; and junior
outfield, or first base, Preston Roberts. The
pitchers are senior Matt Joplin, senior Joey
Cress, senior Nathan Wade, senior Tom
Underhill, junior John Grimsley, and junior
Chad Lanier.
These experienced players will help the
rest of the team improve on their way to
competing in conference, regionals, and
state. The 2003 season ended in triumph;
the team won two of three Appalachian
