Page 4 Opinion The Clarion — February 15,2005 [Staff Editorial] Snow: A welcomed sight Last Saturday's snowfall was spectacularly beautiful. It is an outrage that the so called "Winter" has been so warm up until the last week. There are numerous benefits to snow. One can go sledding, perhaps at a popular place like Strauss Park. Skiing and snowboarding and even tubing are all options when the white stuff falls. With the Winter Olympics in full swing, this weather gets us in the mood to support team America in their effort to rule the Winter sports world. Snow is good for long walks. Perhaps some of you might have taken your signifigant other to a snowy mountain resort getaway for an early Valentine's Day treat. Whatever you did, we hope that you enjoyed the first significant snowfall of the winter. Of course, there are obvious drawbacks to snow. There are dark sides to the white stuff. Maybe you wanted to play some sports like soccer or tennis. They're a lot harder to do outside after It has snowed.
