We meet Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in MG Hulse qualifies for nationals On Saturday, February 18 five members of the Brevard Col lege Track team ran in the Straw berry Plains half Marathon. The conditions on the race course were brutal. The temperature hovered around 28 degrees with 20 mile per hour winds, while a snow storm dumped four inches of snow onto the runners dur ing the race. The race had over 260 runners attempting to com plete the half marathon distance over this hilly course. Junior Andrew King ran a strong race to finish 18 overall in the race, the fastest of all the BC finishers. Emily Hulse, a senior from Jackson, AL covered the snowy course in a school record time of L'35:27. With that performance, Hulse qualified for the 2006 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships to be held in Fresno, CA on May 27th. Junior Sara Harris had a great race, finishing in a personal best time of 1:40;09 placing her as the 11th overall female fin isher in the race. Freshmen Alycia Andrade won her age group in a time of 1:44:21, while fellow Freshman Matt Wells finished 2nd in his age group with a time of 1:30:26.
