Email clarion@brevard.edu March Madness hits Brevard by Joseph Chilton Staff Writer Nets have been cut down as con ference champions have been crowned across the country, the selection committee has selected its field of 65 teams, and now March Madness is sweeping the nation, even finding its way to Brevard College. Over the next three weekends 65 games will be played, teams will be eliminated one at a time, and eventually the NCAA Divi sion I basketball champion will be crowned on April 2 in the Georgia Dome. Each year, millions of sports fans glue themselves to CBS to catch the action and enter numer ous pools hoping to predict the winners in order to gain bragging rights as a master bracketologist. Campus Life will offer several opportunities for the campus com munity to get involved in the ac tion over the next few weeks. A campus-wide pool will be run by Kyle Lo Porto. The student who proves to be the campus’ foremost bracket prognosticator will earn a $50 prize. Second place will receive $15, and the third place entry will be rewarded with $5. For those who want to follow the action on the big screen, the proj ector will be set up in Coltrane to show the first round of games this weekend. The Clarion needs sports writers and photographers!
