From creative and innovative ideas regarding the scheduhng, planning, and promoting of the venue to methods of incorporating Brevard College’s entire student body as a whole into the beneficial area, it is safe to say that there are many exciting opportunities that the entire community can look forward to. The Porter Center for Performing Arts at Brevard College was inaugurated in 1998 and was named after North Carolina businessman and Brevard College life trustee Paul Porter It has made a name for itself throughout not only the state of North Carolina, but throughout the South as an outstanding, spectacular concert hall and musical and performance area. Serving professional, musical, and performing acts alike. The Porter Center also caters to Brevard College’s very own musical and performance-based students who can shape and mold their very own artistic abilities in a space presentable and mesmerizing to the entire community. A major change, however, that recently has taken place at The Porter Center is the departure of the managing director, Mr Heacox. It is very important to understand that Mr Heacox’s departure was solely due to an entire organizational shift taking place and absolutely not due to his performance or contributions as managing director Overall, The Porter Center is about to make many elaborate changes which, without a doubt, promote the area into an even more well-known performing arts center Susan Stromberg, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement, is very famihar with The Porter Center When asked about what she envisioned The Porter Center to be in five to ten years, her answer is elaborate, precise, and exciting. “I want to see The Porter Center utilized by all students, not just by performing arts majors.” Also indicated was that the space would, in the somewhat foreseeable future, allow all students to utilize the space for their educational and professional goals, even if performing arts were completely irrelevant in students’ everyday lives. The Porter Center is one of the many spectacles that Brevard College has to offer From its structural shell's undeniable beauty to the spectacular presence of the contents within.
