By Nate Lyles Staff Writer Ranging from September 24 through September28, theNational Student Government Conference was held in Washington, DC. From nationally-known student leaders to general Brevard's repressentatives in a Metro station in D.C. Students from ieft to right are Travis Wirebaci (SGA President), Amber Kiein (SGA Secretary), Carrie Ann Bowen (SGA Speaier of the House), Ryan Christie (Freshman Ciass Vice-President), IVIerel Siagie (CAB President), Drew Thompson (SGA Treasurer), and Nate Lyies (Freshman Ciass President). student leaders to express how they lead Brevard College on a daily basis, as well as an opportunity to grow as leaders in general. Embarking in daily SGA-oriented forums and lectures, each leader was exposed to different ways to improve overall SGA life and success. In addition to forums, each leader had the distinct ability to participate in “Round Table” discussions, allowing for self expression of what works in each particular SGA organization, nation wide. Students who participated in this very prominent event include Travis Wireback (SGA President,) Chris Dixon (SGA Vice- President), Amber Klein (SGA Secretary), Andrew Thompson (SGA Treasurer), Merek Slagle (CAB President), Carrie Ann Bowen (Speaker of the House), Nate Lyles (Freshman Class photo courtesy N. This very talented, diverse, and driven group of individuals made their mark on Washington, DC and walked away with an abundance of knowledge generated from their peers. representatives, DC was taken by storm over the period of four days and was exposed first hand to the nation’s best SGA leaders. Representing Brevard College was an array of various students from different grades and leadership positions. Traveling to DC was a “Golden Opportunity” for our very own
