Page 8 THE LAST FRONTIER The Clarion \ April 17, 2009 American Hero Greg Paulus has not played football In four years. In fact, the former All- ACC second team point guard didn't play much basketball last year, either, after he lost his starting Job on the Duke basketball team to sophomore Nolan Smith and saw his minutes cut In half But Paulus showed us this week that he's not letting the fact that his name Is now more synonymous with “teabag” than It Is with “Jumpshot” Impede his drive toward fame. Paulus switched gears this week and worked out for bith the Green bay Packers and the University of MIchlgan-as a quarterback. Granted, Paulus was a prolific prep passer at Christian Brothers High In New York, and theoretically would fit well with the Wolverines spread scheme, but once again- HE HASN"T PLAYED FOOTBALL IN FOUR YEARS. For personifying the persistence Inherent In the American spirit that will not accept failure and constantly explores new avenues for revenue. The Clarion salutes Greg Paulus- a true American hero- Just not one on the court. 9ICN or THE TIME9 NELL I IS JUST 'III .111 Last weekend, Christians everywhere celebrated Easter, a holiday reminding us that Christ died for our sins. But If you believe the theology espoused by this church sign In Topton, NC, you probably could have Just saved your time Sunday morning and slept In, as we are all Just teetering on the brink of eternal damnation, regardless of all that 'Justification by grace through faith" stuff that pastors tell you about. Summer Is approaching, and that means that school will be out, the man with the best SeaDoo gets the girl, and people will be salaciously exhibiting copious amounts of flesh. But most importantly, warm weather means it's biocl(buster season. Start the summer off right by seeing if you cill in the crossword with the names of the movies that the following quotes come from.
