It looks like the fourth time’s the charm
forBC football.
Now in its’ fourth season, The Tornados’
football squad has started off the year 3-0,
beating their opponents by a combined
score of 118 to 33.
Contrast this to the first three seasons of
Brevard College football where we posted a
combined record of 5 wins and 24 losses.
Not
only
are the

win streak since
the team returned
to action, but they
are also nationally
ranked in many
offensive and de
fensive categories.
According to the
NCAA Division II
website, the Tor
nados are just out
of the top-50 in
national rankings
for total offense and
are ranked number one
nationally in rushing of
fense.
Brevard also ranks
13th nationally in both
run and total defense.
Tomorrow, the Torna
dos look to continue their
unbeaten streak and im
prove their record to 4-0
against Southern Virginia
University. S VU is off to a
much slower start than BC, having dropped
all three games this season.
A win tomorrow in the Tornados’ last
nonconference game would
be a welsome morale boost
er going into conference
play, which begins Sep
tember 26 against Lenoir-
Rhyne.
Support for the team also
seems strongerthan inyears
past with more students at
tending these games, and
the arrival of a tailgating
section which is open to
students before the game.
Among faculty, sup
port is just as strong.
Professor of Psychol
ogy Steve Martin said,
“It is a pretty awesome
event, it could be a
turning point for the
team.”
“They are a commit
ted group of athletes,”
Martin also said. I’m
glad it happened before
the first group gradu

Retraction:
In regards to the article last week entitled Paddling Club’s OcoeeFest:
An Epic. The author of the article would like to apologize for making
it seem as if it were an official Paddling Club event and would also like
to apologize for portraying the Paddling Club in a way untrue to its
character. It was simply a group of paddlers from Brevard not a Brevard
College Paddling Club sanctioned trip. Apologies to who were affected
by this.
A note from the Paddling Club: Paddling Club is an official Brevard
college club that offers activities and opportunities for students of all
paddling abilities to learn more about the community of water sports and
to develop paddling skills. We have a strong focus on water safety and
community. Everyone is welcome. Roll Sessions every Wednesday hope
to see you there.
