Powderpufl" football- Brevard College’s annual powderpuff football game is this Sunday, October 9 at 6 p.m.. The women form the two teams while the men cheer for them on the side lines. It is a tradition that most people on campus truly enjoy watching, if not participating. Megan Walters, assistant dean of students said, “Colleges, Universities, and High Schools all over the country host Powderpuff games annually! The history of Powderpuff football is excellent; Dakota State University (formerly Eastern State Teachers College) hosted a Powder Puff game in response to a cancellation of most campus activities during wartime in 1945. The traditional homecoming football game could not be rescheduled, so the women thought "Let's do this!". The game was a huge hit and continued yearly! Typically, powderpuff games serve as a fundraiser. Ours is no different! All donations will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation. Bring your change to the game!” So come out on Sunday and support your favorite team (or cheerleader) while raising breast cancer awareness for!
