Feb. 24, 2011 | The Clarion Campus News Page 3 L Tyler Fisher is an RA in Green, President of the Criminal Justice Club, CRJ Campus Rep Award winner, and the Most Improved on the football team. Although large enough to intimidate the kid inside of us all, he is still caring enough to be a friend to those who know him. The one and only Tyler Fisher (22) from Raleigh, NC graduates this May with the rest of his colleagues majoring in Criminal Justice. Fisher enjoys all sports and is seriously addicted to exercise, he loves to work out. Two of his favorite sports that stand above the rest are football and mixed martial arts. When Fisher is inactive (though it’s rare to see) he enjoys making people laugh and taking long walks on the beach. With his Criminal Justice major and Psychology minor, Fisher hopes to one day join the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) task force and continue the route of service as the rest of the men of his family have. To those that don’t know Fisher’s family, there have been three generations of dedicated law enforcement officers in his family. Of his three brothers, the oldest is a police officer and is his biggest role model. Flis father is also a part of the family tradition and has served in law enforcement for over 25 years. Fisher is known for his size and satisfies the fit for being a bouncer, and he worked as one for 2 years in Orlando. In fact, he was such a good fit that he was offered $3,000 to be a body-guard for the well-known rapper Pitbull, but turned it down due to conflicts with football camp starting the following week. Body guard, police officer, DEA task force manager or whatever the proper fit, Fisher will doubtless live up the reputation he has created for himself Tyler, good luck out there, and thank you for what you will do and the people you will protect in your future duties. By Josh Mower^i staff Writer 'Running meets music' returns to BC By Olivia Fawcett StaffVVritei^^_ Former Olympian Jack Daniels and his cross country team are once again hosting their benefit concert, Running Meets Music, with a little help from T-Phat (Tornado Peer Health Advocacy Team). The benefit concert will feature the vocal talents of Sarah Tupper Daniels, a soprano from the Manhattan School of Music, and Donna Maria Pimental, Brevard College alumnus. There will also be a musical performance by Brevard’s very own Skip Allsopp. Jack Daniels himself will also be on stage, answering questions and sharing his own memories about competing in the Modern Pentathlon. With the summer Olympics fast approaching, a two-time Olympian, and a few Olympian potentials, what better theme for the benefit concert than the London Olympics 2012? There will be a wide variety of music ranging from opera, to show tunes, to Spanish, to French, a bit of Classic Rock and THE BEATLES. A raffle will also be included, for only one dollar a student could have the chance to win awesome prizes. Nancy Daniels, the woman who created Running Meets Music says “There will be prizes and fun times will be had by all!” The Running Meets Music benefit concert will be held on the night of Mar. 13 2012 in the Porter Center. The money from the concert will be going towards the Brevard College Cross Country team for new running gear and to T-Phat.
